This was one of the busiest weeks I have ever experienced, but I was incredibly proud of the outcome and the things I got finished. We continued the three-day surveys and found an additional bird at Earth and Marine sciences during this time. This last bird brought our total of birds, during the 3-day surveys, to 2. Again, this bird seems to be a dark-eyed Junco.

Aside from the 3-day surveys, I did a presentation at the Building Belonging Flash talk for the Institute for Social Transformation, showcasing the research I did with econ professors about climate risk and foreign direct investment. The Flash talk was one of the first networking events, in person, that I got to attend ever and after the pandemic, and I expressed interest in Ph.D. programs in Geography. I’ve never really said that thought out loud until this event, and many people came up to me afterward and showed their support and told me they would be open to talking with me. For me, this support from people I barely knew was affirming. Not only did I have this presentation for Building Belonging, but I was preparing the presentation for the ENVS symposium. So there was a lot of preparation going on this week that created a bit of stress but was doable.

This week, the outreach materials all came together and became sustainable for the future. The website template's intention is to be expanded as data accumulates so that people who access the website can better understand the current state of our project.
